UPDATE 4/25/2023 4 yrs after installation of a system that Bell Brothers designed and installed, my energy bills are higher than they were with the 20 yr old system it replaced. We have fewer people in the home, and it is supposed to be a high efficiency system. After numerous complaints, inspections, and supposed repairs to solve the problem, Bell Brothers told me that I need to turn off my high-tech, automatic thermostats and operate them manually as needed. Oh, and NEVER turn on more than 2 of my 3 zones at any one time. So much for the NO SURPRISE GUYS. UPDATE 3/18/23 AFTER CONTACT WITH BELL BROS We have been contacted by Bell Bros since this review with an offer to replace the plenum and reprogram the zone board. We requested a written explanation of those repairs, and how they would solve the problem. We have not received that information. UPDATE 9/19/22 - AFTER TRUE-UP My energy usage (and annual bill) is higher after replacing a 20+ year-old system with one that is supposed to be more efficient. That makes no sense. We have fewer people in the house, and have had more than our share of power outages and flex alerts. This is definitely a very expensive purchase that we thoroughly regret. UPDATE 9/8/21 - AFTER 3 DAYS OF HEAT WAVE We typically open doors and windows or run the whole house fan to take advantage of the cooler morning temperatures. Since the insulation was upgraded, the temperature inside the house seems to be holding between 10-15 degrees cooler than outside. At this point, we are comfortable and looking forward to see if our heating/cooling bills are lower at true-up. UPDATE TO ADD ACTIONS TAKEN BY BELL BROS SINCE MY REVIEW Approximately 1 week after this review was posted, I received a message from Bell Bros Sales Manager wanting to discuss my insulation options. When I returned his call and gave him the details of my experience with his company, he apologized and offered to insulate my home at no cost. Needless to say, that was a more than fair offer and I accepted. In spite of some unprofessional communication issues, the work was performed yesterday and we are waiting to see whether it makes a difference in our comfort and/or our hvac bills. I am raising the rating to 2 stars now, and will be updating the rating further if we see some positive changes in how our system works. ORIGINAL REVIEW Installed complete HVAC system to replace 20 year old system in 4000 sq ft house. Represented that new system would operate more efficiently and should decrease my heating/cooling costs significantly. Prior to installation, they inspected my entire system, including insulation and ductwork and made recommendations for the best system for my needs. I asked about insulation at the time of the install and was told it didn't need to be installed. Two years later, my bills are HIGHER, and now they tell me I only have 6" of insulation when I should have 16". Temperatures in my house are consistently higher than the selected temperature. I have one room which takes more than an hour before the air begins to blow. They tell me it is because this room is so far from the unit. They are the ones who decided where to place the unit. Very unhappy with the difference between what they told me I needed, and what I actually got. Its good service. Great people. I never had a bad technician. I've been this company for 11 years now. I will recommend them to other people without questions.

They come and tune in up if there is a problem with my AC and Furnace. They were excellent!

It took a while before they came in but they did a great job.

Poorly. This vendor is a pure rip off artist. I had to drive 400 miles and fix it myself. I will never use them or Angie list again.. They tried to sell me a whole new unit even after I told them I was in this business for 20 years. DO NOT HIRE THEM!! They said the heat exchanger was no good causing flame roll out. All it was needed was a coil cleaning!!!

I have an old pressure relief valve replaced today. the service person was great, and the installation went really well. My main complain was the price after I did an online comparison. usually, the PRV installation will cost around $500 on the high end, but Bell Brother charged me $1600 since the new valve does not fit the old pipe, and they needed to redo the pipe. My family has been using bell brother for many years, we trusted their workmanship, but the markup is just too steep to justify. I definitely learned my lesson, for small jobs, will use home-advisor instead.

I got say, these folks (Bell Bros.) really did go above and beyond..... for that, I am most grateful and appreciative. My dad isn't exactly the most proactive person, so when his A/C unit started making an unusual sound, I decided to do something about it. I called the Bell Bros. and scheduled an appointment to have their $87 tune-up done on his system. But upon arrival, technician Anthony, immediately recognized that is was a more serious problem than we thought. But what caught my attention was more than the usual quote. They REALLY are the "No Surprise Guys". Anthony took the time to explain the situation. Not only detailing the matter at hand, but also providing insight on possible future repairs. Even to be so honest as to provide information on the plausibility of having to replace the system, which no one wants to hear. But, nevertheless, he was honest and ground, which always goes a long way with my family. I am more than content with the service provided by Anthony and Bell Bros. and will always go to them to seek their advise on these matters. I cannot express enough my gratitude for their assistance. I usually do not take time to write reviews, but for these folks I am.

Wonderful! They came out quickly and on time. Their repairman was very good, very professional, and really a nice guy. Without going into detail it was apparent that the warranty co. was trying to charge over $1000 for repairs that weren't even needed! They had told my son that their compressor was ruined when all it needed was (I think) a new start capacitor! Plus the warranty co. people told my son that they would HAVE to perform a PURGE which they would have to agree to and that the PURGE wasn't covered by the warranty and would be $800! Bell Brothers came by, fixed the problem and that was that. Cost: around $300

Our AC was down and we needed a new one fast! I called Bell Brothers (the gal on the phone was so courteous and helpful...she really felt our pain) and Jason Walker showed up at 8:00 AM the next morning. He is very personable and very professional. Answered all our questions and explained their commitment to the customer in detail. He was very courteous, wore a mask at all times, and made us feel very comfortable. Jason was able to get an install crew here the next morning at 7:00 AM. The install crew, John & Tanner, were just as nice and professional as Jason. You could tell this wasn't their first rodeo and they knew what they were doing. I highly recommend Jason Walker and Bell Brothers!! Thank you!!!!

Very well....signed up for their ongoing service for air, heat and plumbing.

They are respectful, show up on time, spend time to explain what they are doing and they cleaned up after so they've done a good job.

They are good. The are sharp. They were quick, they got here. Reason why I degrade them is I don't like being sold stuff that I didn't want.

Not only did they not snake my pipes they told me it was gonna be $24,000 to fix a clog in the whole bunch of unnecessary repairs. I called a second plumber says there's nothing wrong except the clogged pipe. And then they charge me the $79 to my credit card and then sent my brother in law owner of the property another $79 bill so their double dipping and they didn't even do their job they were called to do. And then they emailed me two receipts one for my payment and one for my brother. If going to steal from people at least don't send them receipts. Someone is not working with a full deck here but I bet my lawyer will have something to say about this.

The service always went very well. They are very respectful of your property. They are always on time. I would recommend them. We have been using them for the past years for our air-conditioning system check and maintenance.

We were very impressed with the attention we received from Bells Brothers sales representative, Anthony. He explained everything clearly so we knew exactly what we were paying for. The installation group, Nick, Noah and Jack were outstanding. We will definitely recommend Anthony and the team to our neighbors. They were all well trained and gave us confidence that we had chosen the right company.

Someone quickly came out to diagnose the problem. They were able to determine what was wrong, fix the immediate issues, and provide additional future recommendations. We would use them again.

Technician recommended some part replacements to prolong life of unit.

I had them for years. They installed my furnace and air conditioner. They service it every year. The furnace is 10 years old. I have the annual contract for both. I don't remember the cost exactly. Everything works fine. If I ever had any issues, they send somebody back to look at it. They work like a lot of these jobs where they have a window, like 12-2 and 2-4.

They gave a window of 12-2, showed up around 2:30. They stated that a part needed replaced which took less than an hour. We asked to see the part after learning that it was a $520.00 bill. It was a Contactor, so the price seemed pretty high. Afterward we got curious and looked the part up on Amazon... $17.95. It seemed crazy that we would be charged $520.00 dollars to install a part that took less than an hour and cost under $20.00 (retail) so we called to ask for details. We were told that the remaining fee was for warranty and installation. This was an awful experience and we will not be hiring them again. We feel they took advantage of a situation, thinking that we wouldn't figure out what had been done. We definitely understand that you must mark items up to make a profit, but that seems outrageous.

I currently have a seven year contract with Bell Brothers, who put in the A/C and the heater. I have them come out once a year. I purchased a ten year warranty for the air conditioner and the heater. I would give them an A on everything with the exception of the punctuality. They give you a window of opportunity, so you can't pinpoint that they're gonna be there at 8:00. It's between the hours of 8 and 12 or 8 and 2, stuff like that. My thing is always really easy because I have everything under warranty. Annually I have those things done so that when people come in, it's just a routine check.because things are not breaking down. Everything is good with them with the exception of that window of opportunity. I probably should have maybe shopped around more and I would have done better. This unit was $10,000. I had gone to the fair and they were at the fair. I got the business card and then I called and someone came out, so they did a salesman thing. I think probably when they go through Angie's List it may be a little bit cheaper than when they're just doing cold calling kind of stuff, and $10,000 three years ago was sort of high. I will use them again, at least through the contract and I had ten years, and I have seven years to go. I think that there are other carriers out there that are probably pretty comparable in price. I think one of the reasons why they're probably a little bit more expensive outside of Angie's List is that they're advertising on TV and those TV spots are not cheap.
